Textile Membrane is a construction material, serves as both supporting element and cover. Unlike reinforced concrete structures, it takes form under the pre-stress forces, created by asymmetrical tensile force, not under the pressure. The exerted pre-stressing force affects the shape and design of structure and it can be determined after making static calculations.

The special type of fabric, produced by weaving of the fibers (polyester-woven) which are the main carrying element of the membrane cover, is the cover material used in PVC Membrane structures, which has vast spectrum of applications from shades to stadiums, amphitheaters to parking lots, market places and performance halls, to various parks and recreational structures, to entrance canopies and to airport structures. Fibers may be coated with several chemicals to provide a protection against external factors and to secure waterproof and airproof feature. İn order to provide self-cleaning feature and increased resistant to ultraviolet and other external impact, an additional coating (Pvc (PolyVinylChloride)*) may be applied on the former coating which has poor contributes to main strength. Pvdf, TiO2 (titanium dioxide), Fluotop, TX… among these materials, the mesh types which exhibit plastic behaviors with no fibers are also available.
